La Scatola is a contemporary art gallery based in Shoreditch. They focus of the showcase of up and coming artists giving them a platform to exhibit their work. Just before it opened in 2010, I was approached to create their logo, identity and web presence. Translated as ‘the box’ from Italian, the space is conceived as the container of the artworks of the future. Drawing on this parallelism I created a logotype that represents an impossible box which is able to contain and transcend at the same time. The logo is presented in two colourways: red on white and, its inverse, white on red. Ad hoc stationary was created building an strong identity for the brand.

For their website, I created a very clean layout that it’s easy to update and makes a strong use of typography to keep it interesting. The site is powered by WordPress supports video, photo galleries, lightbox and well as different users and contributors.
